Über die Veranstaltung
This concert is a true hidden gem! Set in the impressive ambiance of the Jesuit Church, the international ensemble Los Elementos will celebrate a musical Mass featuring works by the greatest representatives of Spanish Baroque, Francisco Corselli and José de Nebra. Corselli made his way from Italy to Spain, soon becoming the Maestro of the Royal Chapel of Madrid. His deputy was José de Nebra. While Francisco Corselli's compositional style is influenced by the Neapolitan School, De Nebra's musical range spans across several periods, from Stile antico, the traditionally conservative music of his Spanish homeland, to the pre-Classical era. In this concert, both influences are masterfully blended into a musical Mass.
Leading Los Elementos is countertenor Alberto Miguélez Rouco, who founded the ensemble in 2018 with the goal of performing works by composer José de Nebra for the first time using historical instruments. The musicians' primary focus is on reconstructing, performing, and disseminating Spain's rich musical heritage, particularly that of the 18th century.
